Restoring 150 Stone Surfaces with PROSHIELD at the W Hotel

PROSHIELD’s stone protection film is completely tailor-made and customizable to various surfaces. More specifically, in the commercial industry where the goal is dedicated towards elevating and preserving heavily used stone surfaces. One of the largest properties you can find PROSHIELD is at W Toronto. Spanning two major, high-traffic areas of the property - Skylight, the hotel’s rooftop bar, and the hotel’s lobby, PROSHIELD was the answer for protecting and preserving over 150 unique stone surfaces.

After six months of being open, W Toronto recognized wear and tear in their stone surfaces and were in search of a straightforward solution. In the early days of the project, PROSHIELD along with many competing films, bid against each other to be chosen. After a Toronto installation company sent a sample and performed a restoration and application service on one table, PROSHIELD’s stone protection film was ultimately selected over competing films.

This project was dedicated towards restoring and protecting a wide variety of stones including Nero Marquina, Onyx, White Marble and White Quartzite. It was recognized that the high-end stones that were housed in the Skylight and hotel lobby, were incredibly delicate for high traffic areas.

The installers were able to complete this project in a week, working at night and in secluded areas of the Skylight and lobby to avoid disturbing guests. The team created an assembly line starting with carefully restoring the surfaces after months of use, followed by flawlessly applying PROSHIELD’s polished and honed film.

After almost a year of completing this project for W Toronto, the film is holding up just as promised. We are proud that our countertop protection film has been a solution for unbelievable venues and we look forward to future projects.
